Privacy policy
The short version
- Your notes stay on your Mac. We never receive them unless you turn on an online feature.
- This website uses no cookies, analytics or tracking.
- For Noty+, we keep only what we need to run your account and bill you.
- You can delete your account at any time from your account page.
Who we are
Noty and Noty+ are made by Inventure71, run by Matteo Giorgetti in Italy. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact us at [email protected].
Noty for Mac
Notes, tags, places, attachments and your activity history are stored on your Mac. They are not sent to us. Backups are yours to make and keep.
Ask Noty is an optional chat that runs through the ChatGPT account you sign in with. Your conversation goes to OpenAI under your own agreement with them, not through our servers. Notes you mark private are not available to it.
This website
The Noty and Noty+ websites set no cookies and use no analytics or advertising tools. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes basic request data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect against abuse.
Noty+ accounts
If you create a Noty+ account, we process:
- Account details: your email address and a securely hashed password, handled by our sign-in provider.
- Subscription details: your plan, billing periods and a customer reference from Stripe. Card details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store them.
- Usage counts: how much of your monthly allowance you’ve used and the cost of processing it. We don’t store the content of your requests to count them.
- Emails we send: account confirmations and password resets.
WhatsApp inbox
If you connect WhatsApp, we receive your phone number and the messages, captions and files you send to Noty. Messages stay until you import them into Noty or delete them. Files are available for up to 7 days; small files may be backed up and kept for up to 14 days in total. Disconnecting WhatsApp deletes all received messages and files.
Smart features
Some upcoming Noty+ features send the note text you choose to an AI model to find to-dos, dates and suggestions. Notes marked private are never sent, and your activity history never leaves your Mac. Text is processed to produce the result and isn’t used to train models.

Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, they are bound by safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Why we’re allowed to
- To provide the service you asked for (your account, subscription and inbox).
- To meet legal obligations, such as keeping invoices and tax records.
- For legitimate interests, such as keeping the service secure and preventing abuse.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept while your account is open. When you delete your account, we stop any subscription and remove your online data. Billing and accounting records are kept for as long as the law requires, up to 10 years in Italy.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, or object to or restrict how we use it. Email [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, or the authority where you live.
Children
Noty+ isn’t meant for children under 14. We don’t knowingly create accounts for them.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we’ll update the date above and tell account holders by email.
